In a strategic move to bolster Pakistan's economy, Toyota Indus Motors (IMC) has announced plans to export 50 units of its popular models, including the Fortuner, IMV series, and Corolla Cross.

Beyond vehicle exports, IMC has also excelled in the export of human resources. Over 100 skilled professionals have been sent to Japan to work with Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC). TMC has recognized Pakistani professionals as the best in discipline, skill, and training among other Asia Pacific countries. This export of human resources is projected to generate $2.5 million, highlighting the high value and competence of Pakistani professionals in the global automotive industry.

This initiative responds to Prime Minister Shahbaz's call for local carmakers to aid economic recovery by expanding into international markets. IMC's decision marks a significant step in showcasing Pakistan's automotive capabilities globally. These selected models, known for their reliability and performance, are expected to gain traction in new markets, paving the way for future export opportunities.

Millat Tractor to Export 3000 Units

Earlier this month, we reported that Millat Tractor is also contributing to the country's economic improvement. Economist Abdul Rehman Najam revealed on Twitter that Millat Tractors, Pakistan's largest agricultural machinery manufacturer, is set to export about 3000 tractors in FY24 to regions including Africa, Afghanistan, South America, and the Middle East. The tractor industry in Pakistan is a success story in terms of localization.

Additionally, Changan Pakistan is making strides in the market. In October 2023, Changan Pakistan exported a batch of 14 Oshan X7s to Kenya and Tanzania, positioning Changan Pakistan as the country's largest exporter of technologically advanced SUVs to international markets.
